Front entrance closet transformation

Since we moved into our house, I've been trying to figure out how to make better use of our front hall closet. We don't have a mudroom and the closet was not efficient or organized. Not pretty! I've been loving the closet makeovers that have been floating around the web and decided to jump on that DIY bandwagon.

The idea was to create an easily-organized nook where everyone could drop their belongings when coming into the house. Everything in its place is music to my ears.

Once we took off the folding doors, just like I did in the rainbow closet makeover and everything was cleared out, we started with building the bench. Duncan and my father-in-law took care of that part. Of course, I didn't document the process but here is a similar tutorial if you're looking to try it out.

Next, we added a board to the wall where we could attach the clothing hooks. I chose these farmhouse style brass hooks from Amazon. For paint color, I chose Simply White by Benjamin Moore for the wall and Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore for the bench. For storage, I wanted to go for a natural fibre look and picked all the wicker baskets I could find. Similar baskets can be found here.
