Halloween mantel decorating ideas

It's October, and although I am not big on decorating for Halloween, my kids sure are, so I'm making the effort to bump up the Halloween decor this year. In my opinion, the best way to make an impact is with a Halloween-themed mantel.

When doing any holiday decorating, my goal is to find budget-friendly, timeless items that can be used from one year to the next. I also like to add a mix of things that appeal to the kids, as well as adults. Check out below for some mantel inspiration. Happy Halloween!

Decorate with multiples of the same item.

This plastic pumpkin can easily be found on many sites. You can check out jack o lanters for sale here. First, cut out the eyes and mouth if they are just painted black. Then paint with white spraypaint on the outside and gold spraypaint on the inside for a clean and classic look that will stand the test of time.

Bats and pampas garland
