modern farmhouse kitchen backsplash ideas

We’ve slowly been chipping away at our kitchen makeover and are ready for the next step. We've put in a new countertop, stenciled the floor tiles so the next part will be to remove the upper cabinets, install floating shelves and choose a backsplash. I've been going back and forth with what I should choose since there are so many tile options available, it can be overwhelming!

If you are in the market to choose a new backsplash, here are a few tips to help make the right choice for your modern farmhouse-style kitchen.

1. Opt for something other than white.

I can't believe I'm saying this, as my go-to is always white, but if you stick to a neutral tone, you can create a warm and inviting kitchen when choosing tiles, like this warm gray glass subway tile.

2. Try out a herringbone.

A herringbone backsplash can add interest by creating a focal point. It isn't a typical brick pattern that we often see, but it's still classic in that you won't get tired of it after a couple of years.

3. Opt for a pattern

Farmhouse style can look chic with elements such as an encaustic tile kitchen backsplash. Don't be afraid to push the boundaries.

4. Keep things classic

With all the above-mentioned examples, your classic white subway tile with a brick pattern is always a great option.

5. Try solid marble

In my opinion, a solid marble backsplash will look good in any kitchen. It makes such a statement but also looks classic. Its a win!
